Pretty extensive list, Chris! Are you related to Ron-my-former-tax-guy? Parks & Rec, I didn't like it much last season, but now I hear it's good, but I keep forgetting it. It's up against some other huge show that I can't remember but am always watching. It happens.
ReplyDeleteHung! Watched it. Meh
Awww, you watch with your mom! I guess that makes up for the anxiety she has with the motoracing? :)
What's Market Place Middle East about?
I do not think I am relate to Ron-your-former-tax-guy, well I hope not at least because I've never met him. I am not home often, but we usually end up watching some crazy random TV shows together. She likes the motorbike racing, so it's all good, no stress there. Market Place Middle East is a great 15 minute show on CNN International that focuses on the developing markets in countries like the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain. It is interesting if you are a nerd like me about what's going on in the world.
ReplyDeleteActually, I lived and taught for 2 years in the UAE (2004-2006), and still have good friends at AlJazeera and AlArabia. Pretty crazy: at the time, 90% of the world's construction cranes were in Dubai. There were some pretty interesting Arab blogs, like SandMonkey, HijabMan, Maniac Muslim, and Mahmood's Den going on then.
ReplyDeleteThat is really interesting, it is a shame they are struggling a little bit at the moment but hopefully their big brother Abu Dhabi will help out a little bit with the financial situation of Dubai World.I wouldn't mind trying to get a journalism job in the UAE so I'm curious to know how you liked living/teaching there?
